The UT Tyler Biology Department is hosting the 73rd Annual Southwestern Association of Naturalists meeting April 23-26, 2026.
The meeting will be held at The Holiday Inn Conference Center in Tyler (more details about how to register will be coming soon so check back to this SWAN webpage). We will be taking you across Tyler to our nationally accredited Caldwell Zoo https://caldwellzoo.org/amazon-rivers-edge/ and our beautiful park-like campus

in the biology, natural history, and conservation of the flora and fauna of
the southwestern United States, Mexico, and Central America.

southwestern naturalistThe Southwestern Association of Naturalists was founded in May 1953 to promote the field study of plants and animals (living and fossil) in the southwestern United States, México, and Central America and to aid in the scientific activities of its members. The Association holds an annual meeting and publishes THE SOUTHWESTERN NATURALIST. Membership is open to all persons interested in natural history. The Southwestern Association of Naturalists fue fundada en mayo de 1953 para promover el estudio de campo de plantas y animales (vivos y fósiles) en el suroeste de los Estados Unidos, México y Centroamérica y para ayudar en las actividades científicas de sus miembros. La asociación tiene una reunión anual y publica THE SOUTHWESTERN NATURALIST. La membresía está abierta a todas las personas interesadas en la historia natural. |
