Save the Date – SWAN 2025, 24-27 April 2025 – Albuquerque, NM

The 72^nd Annual SWAN meeting will be held April 24 - 27, 2025, at Embassy Suites Hotel, co-organized by the Museum of Southwestern Biology and Department of Biology at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The local host committee is working with the hotel, the university, and the New Mexico Museum of Natural History and Science in Old Town Albuquerque to provide a productive, fun, and memorable meeting.  The Meetings Website (microsite) will soon be up and running and all the information about the meeting and the means to register and submit abstracts will be found on that microsite (in English and Spanish).

Hotel accommodations and meeting spaces will be at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Albuquerque Hotel, New Mexico. Room rates will be $149.00 USD per night, double occupancy. More details on how to book hotel accommodations coming soon.

SWAN opened the competition for the Bruce Stewart Student Travel Awards and that deadline passed on June 1, 2024. Online applications for SAC Student Travel Awards will be opened in early 2025, and details will be released later.  Please visit the SWAN webpage (https://saon.wildapricot.org) for more information. As soon as the microsite is completed and made public, registration will be active. In the meantime, stay tuned for more details and make sure to mark these dates on your calendar.

La 72ª Reunión Anual de SWAN se llevará a cabo del 24 al 27 de abril de 2025 en el Hotel Embassy Suites, coorganizada por el Museo de Biología del Suroeste y el Departamento de Biología de la Universidad de Nuevo México en Albuquerque, Nuevo México. Annual SWAN meeting for 2025/Reunión anual de SWAN para 2025

Even though it is a long way off, we are reminding you that the next annual SWAN meeting is April 24-27, 2025, at the University of New Mexico, in Albuquerque, New Mexico.  Please visit the SWAN webpage (https://saon.wildapricot.org) later on for more information.  SWAN has two categories of awards to help students attend the meeting in 2025, the BRUCE STEWART STUDENT TRAVEL AWARDS for applicants outside of the United States, and the SAC Student Travel Awards for applicants inside the United States. In order to give students sufficient time to obtain a visa, SWAN is opening competition now for the BRUCE STEWART STUDENT TRAVEL AWARDS. Deadline for online applications for these awards is June 1, 2024. The application form is found here. BRUCE STEWART STUDENT TRAVEL AWARDS

The Southwestern Association of Naturalists is granting student travel awards to help defray travel and meeting expenses for students attending the 72nd Annual Meeting to be held on 24-27 April 2025, at the University of New Mexico, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. These awards will be given to students enrolled in an institution of higher education outside of the United States who are presenting papers or posters. Students must be current SWAN members, first author on a paper or poster, and be registered for the 72nd Annual Meeting when registration is opened in early 2025. Those who have received two travel awards previously are ineligible. Deadline for application is 1 June 2024.

PREMIOS ESTUDIANTILES PARA VIAJAR BRUCE STEWART
